One of the most off-putting fears faced by those new to recovery from active addiction or alcoholism is the specter of travel - whether that travel is globe-trotting or simply getting from home or work to a 12-step meeting and back.

For high-profile and/or high-net-worth individuals, out-of-town travel usually is a time when the "partying" can get completely out of control. Away from the customary safety nets of family, friends, business constraints and the necessity to "keep up appearances", the allure of alcohol and drugs is greatly increased.

In situations where performance, business, or family matters necessitate travel far from home during early recovery, traveling with a Sober Companion is the best move any newly-recovering person can make.

Often, a Sober Companion will accompany a client from home or office to the airport, get on the plane, make sure the client gets where he or she needs to go, and then we return with the client. Sometimes, this involves only a long weekend; sometimes, we will accompany you for weeks at a time. A Sober Companion from Sober Champion will help you, by any means necessary, to assist you in meeting your goals without the use of drugs or alcohol.

For those who are staying in town but who have tremendous anxiety about getting used to doing everyday tasks without a fix, a pill or a drink, working with a Sober Companion can provide an ideal situation. Sometimes, a newly recovering alcoholic or addict does not need constant companionship, but does need a "go-to" person with whom to commiserate and from whom to take gentle but firm guidance. In such cases, a Sober Coach can provide either short house calls or in-office visits.

Sometimes, especially in the case of artists, musicians, and actors, the presence of a Sober Coach or Sober Companion can ease their fears about constantly changing cities, states, and time zones. Of course, we work with studios, record companies, and business and personal managers to provide just the right fit for such people. Ideally, a young, alternative rock musicians heading into the studio to record tracks for a new album will want someone who has faced similar situations successfully. At the same time, the downtown business attorney will require a sober coach who is (or has been) similarly situated.

At Sober Champion, we are able to supply these needs with very little lead time.
