The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has published their Principles of Drug Abuse Treatment as a resource for your treatment professional and you. In this series of articles, we address their ideas and explore the ways in which Sober Champion complies with NIDA standards. Following are the bullet points from the NIDA document. Click on the links below to learn more about the Sober Champion treatment program, complementary therapy, and how our methods align with NIDA guidelines. "No single treatment is appropriate for all individuals." "Treatment needs to be readily available." "Effective treatment attends to multiple needs of the individual, not just his or her drug use." "Remaining in treatment for an adequate period of time is critical for treatment effectiveness." "Treatment does not need to be voluntary to be effective." "Possible drug use during treatment must be monitored continuously." |
